Murray, Ky.–The Calloway County Coroner’s Office is still attempting to locate relatives of the man who was shot to death Monday afternoon and is seeking the public’s help.
The Coroner’s Office has released the name of the deceased–Luis A. Mancilla Jr., age 53, of Murray.

On Monday, December 21, 2020, at approximately 12:30 p.m., deputies with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2800 block of Cook Store Trail for a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located a male outside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.
Murray-Calloway County Emergency Medical Services transported him to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.
The male was pronounced dead at 1:33 p.m. by Calloway County Coroner Ricky Garland. As of the time of this news release, the victim’s next of kin have not been located nor notified. There will be an autopsy conducted tomorrow at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
Preliminary investigation has shown the shooting to have been an isolated incident and there does not appear to be any ongoing danger to the community. The investigation is continuing by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.
