Dresden, Tenn.–Weakley County Mayor Jake Bynum has continued the county’s declaration of a state of emergency and extended the mask order to February 27.
Bynum said all Weakley County citizens, residents, and visitors will continue to be required to wear a mask or face-covering in public places.
“The extension of this requirement comes as the number of active cases of COVID-19 continues to rise in Weakley County as well as the region. With a thirty day increase of over 750 new cases in Weakley County and a potential of additional spread connected to the holiday season, the requirement for individuals to wear a face-covering is a necessary safety measure for the protection of all Weakley County citizens,” Bynum said.
