Paris, Tenn.–Yes, the show must go on and Henry County Helping Hand will prove that in a big way this year as it embarks on a new format this year.

To get everything off the ground, the Paris BPU has agreed to MATCH the first $20,000 donated to Henry County Helping Hand from Monday, January 4-January 18.

Helping Hand President Stacy Hayes said, “Thanks to BPU for leading the way to a successful Helping Hand auction.”

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Helping Hand will not be able to operate in its traditional live daily Radio Auction format, but will be taking donations and conducting online/virtual auctions through Feb. 5.

There are three ways for the public to donate to Helping Hand this year: donate to the special Helping Hand account at Commercial Bank and Trust; mail a check to Helping Hand, P.O. Box 22, Paris, Tenn.; and donate through the Venmo app. Venmo is like Paypal, but is free and is an app you can put on your phone. The QR code for Venmo is on the Helping Hand poster posted with this article.

Our radio stations will be conducting interviews with Helping Hand board members and charity representatives and those interviews will air every afternoon on WTPR from January 9-February 5.

Segments of those interviews will be broadcast on our other stations and auction updates will air on all five of our radio stations.

The online auction firm Bid Last And Win is teaming up with Helping Hand for a series of four Online/Virtual Simulcast Auctions that will begin January 15.

Bid Last and Win Auctioneer and Owner Junior Staggs said, “Our goal is 150 lots for each Auction. While the format will be a little different than we’re used to, the goal of the 2021 Henry County Helping Hand Virtual Auction is still the same: BID High and BID OFTEN.”

Bidding for the first Auction will begin January 12 and convert to a Virtual Auction, where you can WATCH, LISTEN AND BID ONLINE from your Phone, Tablet, Computer or Smart Device/TV, at NOON on FRIDAY, January 15.

(Virtual Auction Dates are January 15, 22, 29 and February 5)

Helping Hand will use the following format for the entire four weeks:

  1. Drop Off Auction Items Saturday (9AM-NOON)
  2. ONLINE Pre Bidding Opens Tuesday at NOON
  3. Virtual Auction BEGINS Friday at NOON
  4. Pickup/Payment FRIDAY for 3 hours following the close of the Auction.

You can create your USERNAME/Password NOW by Registering at www.BidLastAndWIN.com

No internet? NO PROBLEM. You can call Junior and set up an Absentee Bid on any Auction Lot.

A detailed list of each auction’s donors/communities will be available SOON. And a list of items that can be donated also will be available.

Helping Hand has established a Go Fund Me account to provide a way for former Henry Countians who love Helping Hand a way to donate during 2021. Anyone can use this site to donate at any time. As always, all proceeds will stay in Henry County.
