Troopers with the Kentucky State Police arrested a Tennessee woman after she led law enforcement on a pursuit through Marshall and McCracken Counties.
At around 4:50 Saturday, January 2, 2020, Troopers and deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Draffenville area in an attempt to locate a silver 2003 Mercury Sable that had been involved in multiple hit-and-run collisions.
Troopers observed the vehicle heading west on US HWY 68 toward Draffenville, driving erratically. Troopers and deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but it continued to flee on US 68 into McCracken County.
Troopers and deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office used a tire deflation device on the vehicle near Oakland Church, successfully disabling two tires on the vehicle. The vehicle continued to flee on US 68. Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies performed a pit maneuver on the vehicle, successfully stopping the vehicle.
After a brief altercation, the operator of the vehicle, Heaven M. Tynes, age 32 of Union City, Tennessee was apprehended. It was determined Tynes was under the influence of controlled substances. She was transported to Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah for treatment. Due to the level of impairment, Tynes was admitted to the hospital for further treatment.
Tynes was cited by Kentucky State Police for Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Heroin), Drug Paraphernalia, Buy-Possess, Illegal Possession of Legend Drug, Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Substance, 1st Offense (Aggrivating Circumstance), Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and several traffic violations.
