Henry County Is No. 1 In State For Vaccine Distribution

Paris, Tenn.–The hard work by the Henry County Health Department has paid off for countians receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Henry County is first among Tennessee’s 95 county health departments in distribution of the first dose.

According to the latest data from the State Department of Health, Henry County has the highest percentage of county population receiving the first dose, at 9.34 percent.

Neighboring Carroll County is second highest in the state, with 9.01 percent.

Henry County Health Department Public Health Educator Callie Pierce said, “We’ve been working so hard, nonstop to get as many people in Henry County vaccinated.”

The second doses of the vaccine have begun and will continue this week at either the Henry County Fairgrounds or the Health Department. Pierce said the health department will call you with your appointment and tell you whether what time and date to arrive and which location.

Other area counties are much lower, with Obion County at 4.47 percent; Weakley County at 4.30 percent and Stewart County at 4.47 percent.
