Paris, Tenn.–A funeral procession was held for the late Tim Matheny with employees of both Paris Board of Public Utilities and McCartney Produce this afternoon. Matheny died at the age of 55 on Friday, January 22. He was a Water Treatment Plant Operator and worked for BPU for ten years. Prior to that, he worked for McCartney Produce. Over 25 trucks and roughly 50 BPU employees, along with McCartney employees, joined together to line Memorial Drive as the procession made its way to Memorial Cemetery. BPU bucket trucks formed an archway over the entrance. Matheny’s father passed away on Monday, January 25. BPU and Paris Utility Authority CEO Terry Wimberley said, “As someone who is not only a Paris BPU employee but who also took part in the processional, this act of respect from Tim’s co-workers was an amazing display of honor for the kind of person Tim was.” (Meagan Hart photo).
