Two Dead, One Wounded After Murray Shootings

Murray, Tenn.–Two adults are dead and a juvenile is wounded as a result of Tuesday’s shootings in Murray, which appear to be the result of a domestic dispute.

The Murray Police Department this morning issued an update on the incident, which began around 7:36 a.m. on Chestnut Street near the Murray State University campus.

According to Sgt. Andrew Wiggins, upon arrival officers found a juvenile and two adults who appeared to all be suffering from gunshot wounds.

The juvenile and one of the adults, Katherine Bryan, age 46, of Murray, were transported by EMS to Murray-Calloway County Hospital, from which they were taken by Air Evac to an area hospital.

According to Sgt. Wiggins, Ms. Bryan was later pronounced dead as a result of her injuries.

Anthony Amoroso, age 31, of Murray, was pronounced deceased at the scene
by Calloway County Coroner Ricky Garland.

Sgt. Wiggins said, “Through investigation, we have learned that Mr.
Amoroso shot his girlfriend, Ms. Bryan, and the juvenile before shooting himself.”

The Murray Police Department was assisted on scene by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Murray State University Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Murray Fire Department, Murray Calloway County Ambulance Service, Calloway County Coroner’s Office, Air
Evac, Calloway County Animal Control, and the Murray Road Department.
