Union City, Tenn.–Four groups of Union City Elementary School students were honored by receiving the prestigious Top Tornado Award in ceremonies at the school on Tuesday.
Students in Pre-K through 2nd grade are recognized each nine weeks, based on behavior, work ethic and kindness to others. Three members of each class in every grade are honored with the accolade.
Principal David Byars and assistant principal Thel Taylor presented each recipient with a lapel button and a certificate, noting the accomplishment. Guidance counselor Christina VanHooser presided over the ceremonies that were enjoyed by classmates of the winners.
