Paris, Tenn.–The recent bout of winter weather created numerous potholes around Paris and the City of Paris Public Works continues to work as much as possible on the potholes around the city, according to public officials.
City Manager Kim Foster said, “Though we are unable to fill them with asphalt right now due to the fact that the asphalt plants are closed, we have been filling them with gravel, smoothing them out and letting them settle.”
The city is scheduled March 29 to begin major repair work on Dunlap Street, Winding Way and Mallard Lane, weather permitting. The asphalt plant will be open at that time for two weeks until they must shut down again temporarily before the spring and summer season, she said.
“When we begin work on Dunlap, the plant will remain open for two weeks. During that period, aside from the street repairs mentioned earlier, Paris Public Works will fill as many potholes as possible during that two week time window.
If we are unable to reach the potholes found on your routes please be patient. We will return to this task as soon as the asphalt plant reopens for the season though we plan to get as many as possible during that two week period,” Foster said.
If you need to report a pothole you may contact Paris Public Works at 731-642-0473.
