Paris, Tenn.–A woman and her three children escaped injury after a suspected lightning strike caused a fire at a double-wide mobile home Saturday night in Henry County. The home was destroyed and firefighters efforts were hampered by the severe storm, lightning and high winds.
The Paris Landing Fire Department and Henry County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 255 Nobles Road around 9:30 p.m. on the report of a structure fire.
Paris Landing Fire Chief Reggie Coles said, “Arriving units found the double wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames. A Rescue Squad member who lived across the street saw the incident and was able to help the occupant, Ms. Trina Beechum and her three children escape without injury.”
The home was a total loss. A lightning strike is the suspected cause and damage is estimated at $35,000.00.
