Paris, Tenn.–Henry County’s Vietnam Veterans were honored at an informal gathering for National Vietnam Veterans Day this morning at the Veterans’ Memorial on the Henry County Courthouse lawn.
Some two dozen veterans gathered for the event, which was organized by County Assistant Veterans’ Officer Randy Prince. “I just thought it would be a good way for us to remember the fallen and remember those who answered the call from Henry County. We don’t get a chance to get together all that much,” he said.
In his prayer at the gathering, Jack Tarkington of Paris said, “Thank you for bringing these men home and let’s be mindful of the names on the memorial behind us who didn’t come home.”
