Area County Mayors Participate In “Start By Believing” Campaign

wrap-hc

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and County Mayors in our area are signing proclamations in support of local agencies which strive to end the cycle of violence and silence and change the way people respond to sexual assault. WRAP (Women’s Resource & Rape Assistance Program) directly serves those impacted by sexual violence across 19 counties in West Tennessee, offering a wide array of trauma-informed and evidence-based services that are free and confidential.

WRAP is participating in the “Start by Believing” campaign throughout the month of April.

WRAP will also be collaborating with different colleges and universities to build campus awareness of sexual violence through different outreach activities, promoting social media events and debuting  weekly “Safe Space”  Facebook Live discussions. If you or anyone you know has questions about sexual violence please call the 24/7 helpline at 1-800-273-8712.
