Paris, Tenn.–The 2021 World’s Biggest Fish Fry was one to remember, with record crowds returning to the event after its cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic.
General Manager Loria Plunk said, “We don’t have the final numbers yet, but it has been an amazing year, with lots of long hours and lack of sleep, but we believe service to community is the best work of life.”
The Fish Fry is organized each year by the Paris-Henry County Jaycees and many local organizations donate their time to help make activities and events a success, including the Fish Tent, Grand Parade, Fishing Rodeo, arts and crafts, demolition derby, dances, concerts and Championship Bulls & Barrels Showdown. (The Small Fry parade was postponed until next Saturday, May 1, due to the inclement weather Saturday morning.)
Plunk said, “We are very lucky to have the community support from government to local volunteers. Crowds this year have been above average. Thank you Paris-Henry County for your contiued support and to my fellow Jaycees: as a Team we make the Dream come true!”
Sam Hutson of Crove Media shared aerial drone photos he took of the Fish Fry carnival and of the Grand Parade.
