Henry, Tenn.–Henry Volunteer Firefighters extinguished a fire on both sides of the roadway on Ben Smith Road Monday afternoon, but Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey told RadioNWTN that it does not appear the fire is connected to the series of arson fires occurring in the county.
The Henry Department was dispatched to the area of 345 Ben Smith Road at 3:29 p.m. Also on the scene was Tennessee Forestry and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Frey said after examination of the scene, it appears the fire was started by a cigarette thrown from a vehicle.
