Paris, Tenn.–At its Thursday night meeting, the Paris City Commission will consider a request to amend a zoning ordinance to locate a Tidal Wave Auto Spa on Mineral Wells Avenue.
John Lapointe of Brightwork Real Estate has presented a request on behalf of the PEA Group of Houston, Texas, to locate the car wash on an outparcel in front of the Walmart Supercenter.
The 1.2 acres of undeveloped property presently is in an SC-1 Zoning District and the request seeks to amend the zoning ordinance to allow this use.
In correspondence with the city, Jacques Gilbert, project manager said his company believes the car wash and Walmart would be complementary and compatible and that locating the car wash there would enhance the shopping experience.
The proposed car wash is not associated with Walmart.
With such preliminary requests, the City Commission normally refers action to the Planning Commission for their recommendation.
The Commission will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at City Hall. Other items on the agenda include updates on ongoing city projects, a request to purchase property at 504 W. Wood Street adjacent to City Hall, and a recommended job description for Civic Center supervisor.
