Paris, Tenn.–Local history lovers gathered Thursday night for an evening sharing their treasures at the annual ‘Show & Tell” Night at the Paris-Henry County Historical Society meeting at the Heritage Center. Among the artifacts presented were an original photograph of the Grove High School class of 1916, Gov. Tom C. Rye’s eyeglass case and Gov. James D. Porter’s topcoat and vest donated by the Sophia Snider Ray estate, Gov. Gordon Browning’s U.S. flag from his office and Gov. James Nance McCord’s hat, artifacts from Hico and Fairview School, and a sword that once belonged to both Gov. Porter and General Dunlap. In photo, Historical Society President David Webb shows the 1916 Grove School photo, with Gov. Browning’s American flag in the foreground and a portrait of Sula Sheeley McCord of Paris, wife of Gov. McCord. The portrait was donated by the Sheeley family. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
