Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey said Thursday afternoon that the cause of today’s fire at TRW Storage in Paris is still under investigation.
Frey was at the scene of the fire, which destroyed some 35-40 storage units –and the belongings stored in them — at the business. The business is located at 3960 Hwy. 79N.
At the Thursday afternoon update, Frey said, “At this time, the cause of this morning’s fire is of an undetermined cause and origin. This incident does remain under investigation.”
Speaking from the scene this morning, TRW Storage Owner Tony Wade said he received the call that the business was on fire at 9:10 a.m. He said it appeared that the fire started in one of the storage units.
The Paris Fire Department was joined by the Paris Landing and Oakland Volunteer Fire Departments in battling the fire. Paris Fire Department officials were still working on the report Thursday evening, but said they received the first call about the fire at 9 a.m.
“This will be a long report to complete,” Assistant Chief Jamie Hinson said, “with all the storage units and the different renters and all the belongings, it will take a while to get all the information together.”
