Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Schools Building and Grounds Committee will recommend that the press box at Henry County Patriot Stadium be named for long-time announcer Jim Farmer.
At the committee meeting Monday afternoon, District Athletic Director Mike Poteete proposed that the press box be named for Farmer. He noted that Farmer has been announcing Henry County games for 30 years and has only missed two games in that time. He said he is an outstanding asset to the school district.
Board policy allows a building or specific area to be named for a living person who has made outstanding contributions to the district.
The recommendation will be brought to the board of education when it meets later this month.
Earlier, the fieldhouse was named for the late football coach James Counce and the football field was named for the late Bill Hudson.
