
Paris, Tenn.–Winners of the first Henry County Juneteenth Art Showcase have been announced. The artwork by local youth will remain on display at the Paris Academy for the Arts through the first week of July. The Juneteenth Art Showcase was organized by the Citizens for Education, Elevation and Empowerment.
Rev. and Mrs. William Crutchfield of Allen Temple CME Church were on hand and shared history of their church, which is one of the oldest in Henry County.
Winners were treated to prizes from businesses in Paris.
Youth winners are: Evan Dong, Sophia Dong, Karen Chen Kitty Chen and Sam Woods.
Organizer Dianne Carlisle said, “Special thanks to the Paris Academy for allowing us use of their beautiful building and gallery and for their eagerness to support events like this. Thanks also to the following businesses and people for donating prizes for our winners: Larry Smith and the Parisian Theatre, Rhonda Stanton and KPAC, Tony Lawrence and the Civic Center and to Matrix VR Arcade.
