Paris, Tenn.–Who says reading has to be a sedentary activity? They certainly don’t at the W.G. Rhea Library in Paris.
New “Read and Ride” bikes were provided to the library as part of a “Project Diabetes Grant” awarded to the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation, through the State of Tennessee Department of Health.
And more are set to be installed in the Henry County Schools and Paris Special Schools.
With the participation of the Henry County School System, Paris Special School District, and W.G. Rhea Public Library, 10 Read and Ride stations will be installed throughout the schools and libraries in Henry County.
Read and Ride stations are designed to allow students, faculty, and community members to read or work at a desk while pedaling a stationary bike.
The Library received two bikes; one adult and one student bike.
