Explosion Causes Henry Homes To Rattle

henry-update

Henry, Tenn.–Henry city officials have notified the public of the source of a very loud boom heard throughout that area on the 4th of July.
Henry Mayor Dustin Odom said the explosion occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday and rattled homes across town.
He said a resident on Meadows Rd. detonated 25 pounds of explosives “for fun”, outside the city limits.
“Unfortunately part of someone ‘having fun’ caused several homes to experience damage to items such as picture frames, light bulbs and other contents in their home,” he said on the city’s Facebook page Monday. “Please take your neighbors into consideration before creating such a noise moving forward. I know of one instance where one of these neighbors had just gotten home from having open heart surgery.”
In one house, all the light bulbs were blown out inside the residence, he told RadioNWTN.
The incident occurred outside of the city’s jurisdiction, he said.
“Please keep in mind that if you cause damage to someone’s property, then you can be held liable for the damage through both civil and/or criminal charges,” Odom said.
