NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Tennessee at Martin accounted for six Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars for the 2020-21 campaign as the Golf Coaches Association of America unveiled the full list of recipients this afternoon.
The six single-season honorees are a new school record for the Skyhawks, doubling the previous overall amount of recipients the school had produced. Ross Redmont, Jack Story and Nick Wolf each became the first UT Martin golfers to be named All-American Scholars twice in a career while Tate Chumley, Peyton Dix and Jacob Uehlein garnered their first such award today.
The GCAA recognized 536 NCAA Division I student-athletes with the 2020-21 All-American Scholar title today as the Skyhawks were responsible for six of the 25 Ohio Valley Conference winners. UT Martin was one of only 11 universities to have at least six honorees, joining BYU (seven), Cincinnati (seven), Ohio State (seven), Ball State (six), Duke (six), Georgia Southern (six), Kent State (six), Michigan State (six), Northwestern (six) and Richmond (six).
Redmont posted a 73.8 scoring average during his 17 rounds this past season as the redshirt senior from Memphis, Tenn. recorded a 3.74 Grade Point Average while pursuing a Master’s degree in business administration.
A senior out of Dickson, Tenn., Story pieced together a 72.7 stroke average in 2020-21 while posting a 3.75 GPA in pursuit of a Master’s degree in business administration.
Wolf tallied a 71.1 scoring average in 23 rounds as a junior last season as the Murfreesboro, Tenn. native owns a 3.97 GPA while majoring in finance.
In 23 rounds this past spring, Chumley came away with a 72.3 stroke average. The junior from Murfreesboro, Tenn. boasts a 3.29 GPA while majoring in health and human performance.
Dix managed a 74.9 scoring average across 13 rounds in 2020-21 as the redshirt senior out of Eads, Tenn. earned a 3.80 GPA while pursuing a Master’s degree in business administration.
A sophomore from Tullahoma, Tenn., Uehlein carded a 75.0 stroke average spread out over 17 rounds last year while accumulating a 3.64 GPA as an agricultural business major.
To be eligible for the All-American Scholar award, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically, must have a stroke average under 76.0, maintain a cumulative career GPA of at least 3.2, and participate in 40 percent of the team’s competitive rounds.
