Henry County Fair Opens With Busy Weekend

Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Fair will kick off with a busy weekend that includes the Fairest of the Fair and other royalty pageants, Baby Barnyard Revue Dairy Cattle Show and more.

The fair will be held August 7-14 with a full to bursting schedule of events, some old and some new, including the Junior Livestock Auction, 4-H Country Ham program, USA Pullers’ Tractor Pull, carnival, Demolition Derby, CHOPPED Fair Style cooking contest, Pet Show, BBQ Cook-off, Skillet Toss, Cruise-In, plenty of live entertainment with a roaming magician, local musicians pickin’ at Big Ed’s Porch, Paris Concert Band, The Barons, Mike Holden Jazz Orchestra, crafts on exhibit, beauty pageants, plenty of contests such as Moon Pie and ice cream eating. And that’s just to name a few.

CDC safety protocols will be followed. Mask wear for unvaccinated persons is strongly recommended indoors and mask wearing for more vulnerable persons in general is strongly recommended indoors.

The carnival opens on Tuesday night. As always, Thursday will be an especially busy day that will end with the Junior Livestock Show; USA Pullers’ Tractor Show is Friday night; Demolition Derby is Saturday night.

On tap for Saturday, August 7:

10 a.m. BBQ Cook Off Turn in, Dairy Cattle Show

3:30 p.m. Miss Pre-Teen

5 p.m. Miss Teen

6:30 p.m. Fairest of the Fair

On tap for Sunday, August 8:

2 p.m. 4-H Youth Grilling

2:45 p.m. Junior Miss

3:30 p.m. Baby Barnyard

For pageants $5 admission or two cans food per person.
