Buchanan, Tenn.–A rehabilitated Bald Eagle will be released at 10 a.m. Thursday (August 19) at Paris Landing State Park and everyone is invited to watch.
The release will be held in the soccer field of the picnic area.
Park Ranger Gina Lowry of Paris Landing State Park said the adult Bald Eagle was brought to the park in May with symptoms of fatigue, malnutrition, and dehydration. “With the help of TWRA and (Regional Naturalist) David Haggard, we transported the eagle to Mid South Raptor Center in Memphis where it under went medical care and was rehabilitated.”
Lowry told RadioNWTN that Haggard picked the Bald Eagle up from Memphis today and the Eagle will spend the night at the Paris Landing Raptor Area before being released tomorrow morning.
“Join us in the morning to discover more about the care of the eagle and why they are so important to our ecosystem,” she said.
