Martin, Tenn.–The new Martin Public Library is now open with limited hours and limited services.
The $1.7 M facility was recently completed and offers stacks and stacks of books, a Children’s Room, Teen Room, genealogy area, small group study rooms, leisure reading areas, meeting rooms, Sound/Video recording rooms, demonstration kitchens, media editing rooms and more.
The $7.1 M to fund the huge facility was given by 1,000 donors.
There are more than 500 bricks at the entrance of the library which were purchased by individuals and businesses. They contain names, memorials, honorariums and clever inscriptions.
The library is now open with LIMITED HOURS and LIMITED SERVICES. Current library hours are Tuesday 9:30AM – 5:30PM, Thursday 9:30AM – 8:00PM, Saturday 9:30AM – NOON. Available services are book, DVD and Hotspot check-out.
The library will shortly open with full hours and more services as work continues on organizing and arranging the facility.
