Paris, Tenn.–There’s a lot of activity at the Eiffel Tower Park as the city of Paris installs more pickleball courts. Pickleball has become very popular locally and the city’s Parks and Recreation Department decided to add more outdoor courts at the park.
A crew from Milan began pouring the concrete base for the courts very early Wednesday morning–at 4:30 a.m., actually. There will be four regulation courts and each will be fenced.
Parks Director Tony Lawrence said the surface needs to be cured and it will take about two months for the new courts to be available for play. A sidewalk at the courts will be installed beginning today, he said.
Meanwhile, enthusiasts can play at the other outdoor courts at Eiffel Tower Park and can play indoors at the Atkins-Porter Recreation Center. Lawrence said people can call the Civic Center to reserve a court or they can reserve any city facilities online on the city of Paris website.
