Paris, Tenn.–For the second straight year, the annual Oktoberfest Festival in Paris has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
With COVID cases spiking dramatically in Henry County, a church spokesperson told RadioNWTN, “Unfortunately, we decided to cancel Oktoberfest altogether for 2021. We wanted to be on the safe side.”
In its formal statement, church officials said, “Unfortunately due to the increase of Covid cases in our area, the Oktoberfest committee has decided to suspended this year’s festival once again. We hope to come back full force in 2022.”
Oktoberfest had been scheduled for October 2 at the Henry County Fairgrounds.
According to the State Department of Health, the number of active COVID cases in Henry County is at 429.
