Paris, Tenn.–Christmas came early for The Shed, in the form of “tons” of toys and a sizeable monetary donation, thanks to Saturday’s Caring Biker’s Toy Run.
Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Michelle Brewer said the day was “perfect, in several ways. The weather was perfect and the people who participated were perfect.”
It was the 3rd Toy Run for The Shed, which was the brainchild of Deputy Brewer, who also is the School Resource Officer for Rhea School. The Shed provides clothing, hygiene products and other items–for free–for people in need, no questions asked. The Shed is located at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Brewer said, “To say thank you to everyone doesn’t seem adequate enough. My heart is full. I was so happy to see people on the side of the road”, showing their support for the participants.
Some 150 motorcycles and seven vehicles participated in this year’s run and a fund was donated to the victims of flooding in Waverly.
At the conclusion of the Toy Run, everyone gathered at the VFW Post 1889 where the donations were gathered and hamburgers and cheeseburgers were served.
