Union City, Tenn.–Molly Kizer now has Fall Break plans.
The Union City High School sophomore qualified for next week’s Class A Girls State Golf Tournament Monday by placing fourth overall in the Region 7A tourney at Persimmon Hills in Sharon.
With a Top 5 individual finish, Kizer earned the right to play on the state’s biggest stage at the Sevierville Golf Club, Oct. 7 and 8. The 36-hole event moves to East Tennessee after several years of being played in Manchester at the WillowBrook Golf Club.
UC Schools begin their annual Fall Break on Wednesday of next week, though Kizer will almost certainly gladly reschedule any previous plans she’d had to play with and against the state’s best Thursday and Friday.
She shot a 93 (46-47) on Monday on the Weakley County course to punch her ticket.

McKenzie, paced by tournament champion Juleyanna Weatherford’s 84, also won the team title with a 182 total.
The Union City boys were fifth in the team field with a 378 score. South Gibson County claimed the tourney crown with a 320.
Nolan Chandler posted the Twisters’ best score with a 90 (45-45). Landon Hauhe finished with a 98 (47-51) and Reese Paschall came in with a 101 (50-51). Carter Watts’ 108 (54-54) rounded out the UC total.
