Springville, Tenn.–No one was hurt and the home was saved due to the quick work of the Springville, Mansfield and Oakland Fire Departments at a residential fire at 5000 Manleyville Road this morning.

Springville Fire Chief Bob McDowell said, “I want to give a shout out to BPU. One of their crews happened to be driving by and saw smoke coming from the house and called 911 right away. We were able to save the structure because we got there so fast.”

Mutual aid was provided by Mansfield and Oakland Volunteer Fire Departments.

There was heavy smoke and water damage, mostly to the one-story home’s master bedroom, where the fire started. “At this point, it appears to be an electrical fire,” McDowell said.
