Big Sandy, Tenn.–A man already under Community Corrections supervision for felony weapons and drug charges was arrested by the Big Sandy Police Friday night for more weapons and drug charges.

During a traffic stop, officers discovered the driver, David Medlin, was under supervision for recent felony weapons and drug charges and that he had two active warrants on him in Benton County.

During the stop, officers found Medlin in possession of brass knuckles, which is a prohibited weapon, and also found him to be in possession of some seven grams of a substance believed to be meth, as well as drug paraphernalia.

According to Big Sandy Police, the substance will be tested at the TBI crime lab in Jackson. Big Sandy Police Chief stressed the dangers of methamphetamine and other illicit narcotics. “They are extremely destructive to individuals, their families, and the communities around them. The Big Sandy Police department will continue to be proactive in combating dangerous drugs,” he said.
