Union City, Tenn.–A select group of third and fourth graders from Union City Elementary was recently rewarded with a trip to Discovery Park of America as part of the school’s Discovery Kids program.

Faculty and staff nominated ten students from both the third and fourth grades to travel to DPA and enjoy a fun-filled day after their exemplary behavior over the first nine weeks of the 2021-22 school year.

The honorees – each of whom wore purple UCES shirts to show their Tornado Pride – had been lauded by school staff for displaying both excellent behavior and character.

The students explored the many exhibits at the park, including the seasonal pumpkin patch display.

One student commented: “This is the best day of the year!”

Other students excitedly reported that this was their first-ever visit to DPA and they were thrilled with the experience.

“Overall, this was an awesome day for our students to not only learn from the park exhibits, but also to share quality time with each other and have fun,” UCES Guidance Counselor Regena Lindsey said.
