Paris Home Heavily Damaged By Fire

Paris, Tenn.–A home on India Road in Paris was heavily damaged by fire Saturday night, but thankfully occupants of the house were not injured.

Paris Firefighters were called to 1495 India Rd. around 8 p.m. last night on a report that a garage was on fire. On the way to the fire, they were informed that the garage was attached to the house but that everyone in the house had made it safely outside.

The house is owned by Brad and Pam Hosford.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the side of the residence and “turbulent smoke pushing from the eaves of the house,” according to the report.

All occupants were in the front yard “and accounted for” when the fire department arrived at the scene. In all three units were called to the scene and they stayed until about 11 p.m. extinguishing the fire.

According to the report, the working smoke detectors in the home had alerted the occupants.

Losses were estimated at $100,000 for the property and $50,000 for contents.
