Union City, Tenn.–A Saturday afternoon matinee provided for a good showing for Union City basketball and Lady Twister standout Amari Bonds was honored at halftime of the nightcap for joining the program’s 1,000-Point Club..
The Tornado teams swept Madison Academic in convincing fashion at Marty Sisco Gymnasium, the girls blowing out the visitors 56-9, and the Twister boys running away early for a 72-54 triumph.
Both UC teams are now 4-2 heading into a pair of road games this week – at St. Benedict Tuesday, and a rematch against winless MA next Saturday in another 2 p.m. afternoon twinbill in Jackson.

Meanwhile, MA (0-6) netted just three field goals the entire contest and did not score in the fourth quarter when the clock ran continuously.

UC was comfortably ahead 57-35 with three quarters in the book.
Union City made 14 shots from beyond the arc with Malaki Brooks draining five 3-pointers as part of his 15-point effort. D.J. Robinson scored a team-high 17 points and sank a trio of treys.
