
Paris, Tenn.–Several more incumbent and new candidates for office have taken out qualifying petitions in Henry County to run in the May election.
Henry County Elections Administrator DeLaina Green said the deadline to return signed petitions is noon February 17, 2022.
Since last week, incumbents who have picked up qualifying petitions include:
Henry County Mayor John Penn, Henry County Clerk Donna Craig, Henry County Register of Deeds Pam Martin. The following Incumbents picked up their qualifying petitions early last week: Chancellor Vicki Hoover, Sheriff Josh Frey, Public Defender Tas Gardner and Clerk of Courts Mike Wilson.
Incumbent County Commissioners who have picked up qualifying petitions include: Monte Starks, District 3; David Webb, District 5; Kreg Kyle, District 2; Dell Carter, District 4.
Three other candidates have picked up petitions to run for County Commission, also:
Tara Wilson has picked up a qualifying petition to run for District 4 County Commissioner. Wilson is Assistant Director of the Paris-Henry County Industrial Commission and is a member of the Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commissioner.
Danny Bowden has picked up a qualifying petition to run for District 1 County Commissioner. Bowden is the Assistant to the County Maintenance Supervisor.
Steve O’Brien picked up his petition to run for County Commission in District 1 early last week.
Also announcing his candidacy last week was Neil Thompson, running for District Attorney for 24th Judicial District.
Also picking up a petition to run is Incumbent Cody Craig, Road Board, District 1; Tom Bell, District 3 Constable.
Several offices are on the ballot for the May 3 election, including Henry County Mayor, Henry County Commissioners, Sheriff, Trustee, Circuit Court Clerk, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Highway Commission, Constables, General Sessions Judge, Circuit Court Judge, Chancellor 24th District, District Attorney, Public Defender.
Green said the last day to register to vote is April 4, with early voting period from April 13-April 28.
