Lisa Goforth of Big Sandy was recently recognized for 20 years of dedicated service to the Benton County Rescue Squad and awarded Lifetime Membership. Goforth received a plaque from BCRS Captain Dwayne Presson commemorating her selfless service on the rescue squad.
As a certified extrication technician and an integral team member of the BCRS, her training and skills have been valuable over the years. “It has been a privilege to serve my community on the rescue squad,” Gofoth said after receiving the Lifetime Membership award.
Lisa is a self-employed caregiver and is married to Donahue Goforth of Big Sandy. She is the mother of two sons, one stepdaughter, and she has three grandchildren. When she isn’t busy working or serving Benton County, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren ride dirt bikes and ATVs. Lisa and her husband are both active members of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and are avid motorcycle riders as well.
The BCRS is always looking to recruit dedicated people who are willing to serve their community. Anyone who is interested in joining the rescue squad is encouraged to come to the rescue squad headquarters located at 295 Factory Street in Camden to learn more about opportunities to serve and the membership requirements. Information about joining and applications for membership will be available during our meeting and training dates on the first and third Tuesdays each month at 7:00 pm.
The rescue squad is staffed by dedicated volunteers from the community who continually train to be able to respond to many types of accidents. In addition to vehicle extrication, the BCRS provides other vital services to the residents of Benton County including farm rescue, water rescue and recovery, land searches, and trench rescue.
