Jackson, Tenn. – Leadership from Jackson State Community College, Dyersburg State Community College, and the University of Memphis met at Uof M-Lambuth to establish the One Step Closer initiative recognizing the partnership between 2-year and 4-year institutions as a best practice for transfer student success for many years.
This program guarantees admission to the University of Memphis for students with a 2.0 GPA or higher and waives the application fee for One Step Closer students. Additionally, students in the program with a 3.25 GPA at the end of their Associate degree will receive a $3,000 scholarship to Uof M, as well as early access to many of the support services that Uof M offers.
Jackson State has a branch in Paris located in the Central Services Building.
