McConnell To Tour West Kentucky Tornado Damage Today

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will travel throughout Western Kentucky on Thursday, January 27th to discuss tornado recovery efforts with local leaders and visit several communities affected by the devastating tornado outbreak last December.  The Senator will conclude the day in Mayfield and following a closed-press briefing with local officials, will host a press availability.

On Tuesday, January 25th, Senator McConnell visited the Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM) Operations Center for a tour and briefing with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and KYEM.  On Wednesday, January 26th, the Senator visited Campbellsville, Hopkinsville, and Bowling Green to discuss tornado recovery efforts with local officials.

Senator McConnell has maintained close contact with local, state, and federal officials to coordinate and provide aid.  Additionally, he launched his portal for tornado relief resources on his website www.mcconnell.senate.gov
