Buchanan, Tenn.–There’s still time left to vote for Paris Landing State Park and help renovate the Birds of Prey rehabilitation facility.
The Birds of Prey facility has been located adjacent to the office at Paris Landing since April 2016.
Park Ranger Gina Lowry said much-needed improvements are needed for the raptors who make their home (whether permanently or temporarily) there. She noted they have an Osprey named Fisher there now. “He is one of the Raptors that will benefit from your votes and generous donations. We received Fisher in September of 2021 after he was hit by a vehicle, injuring his left wing. Although, he is not releasable, building a flight cage could help Fisher strengthen his injured wing and give him a sense of freedom while in captivity.”
Needed projects include replacing the aging netting with coated wire, which will help keep the birds safe and prevent entanglements; and construction of a larger free-standing flight cage.
Paris Landing is No. 2 in votes for parks with 750,000 annual visitors.

The fundraiser is a friendly competition between all 56 Tennessee State Parks. The public can vote for any of the 56 state parks, as many times as they want for the entire month of January.

Remember you have until January 31 to vote Paris Landing as your favorite state park and help our Feathered Friends! Please click on the link to vote! https://tnstateparks.com/…/event_details/paris-landing/…
