
Keith Chilcutt age 83 of Paris, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Chilcutt began his career in education at Cottage Grove School in 1961. While there he coached baseball and basketball. He then went to Atkins-Porter, where he was the principal for many years. He closed his career as the principal of Inman School. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, and cooking fish. Alongside his wife, he attended First Baptist Church, where he belonged to the Men’s Bible Class. He was former long-time member of the Kiwanis Club and was currently a member the Buchanan Masonic Lodge #772.
Keith was born January 11, 1939, in Buchanan, to the late William Woodard Chilcutt and the late Vera Goldie Thompson Chilcutt.
He married Carolyn Johnson Chilcutt September 15, 1962, who survives of Paris.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by his two sons, Richie (Suzanne) Chilcutt of Buchanan, and Rodney Chilcutt of Denmark, TN; three sisters, Glendora Thompson of Murray, Janice Vaughn of Palma, KY, and Zona (Don) Durst of Murray; eight grandchildren, Rebecca (David) Peale, Gatlin (Lindley) Primose, Justin (Morgan) Chilcutt, Cody (Heather) Chilcutt, Chris (Lauren) Roberson, Samuel Chilcutt, Clay Chilcutt, and Jacob Chilcutt; and six great grandchildren.
Additional survivors include special friends, Fred (Ann) Patterson, J W (Carolyn) Akers, and Shorty (Linda) Akers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alene Bucy, and four brothers, Rudolph, Eugene, Arlton, and Bill Chilcutt.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 4-7pm, and continue on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 9- 11am. His funeral service with Masonic Rites will be held February 4, 2022, at Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11am, with Jerry Massey and Trent Bullock officiating.
Keith’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Shed House and former players he coached at Cottage Grove will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
