
Two of the three inmates who escaped from the Sullivan County Jail on Friday have been confirmed deceased. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, two of the inmates were involved in a robbery at a store in North Carolina and were killed.
Inmates Tobias Carr and Timothy Sarver were the two confirmed killed. Johnny Brown remains at large.
Carr was being held on charges of second-degree murder, vandalism and tampering with evidence, according to the Feb. 4 Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Sarver was jailed on charges of auto theft, identity theft, drug paraphernalia and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Brown was being held on charges of failure to appear, driving on a suspended or revoked license, harassment, violation of order of protection, domestic assault and aggravated stalking.

UPDATE: The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has been notified that Tobias Carr and Timothy Sarver have been confirmed deceased in Wilmington, NC. Preliminary information indicates both men were involved in a robbery at a convenience store in another part of North Carolina and led authorities on a multi-jurisdictional pursuit before the vehicle was disabled in Wilmington. Additional details will be released when possible.
Johnny Brown remains at large. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
Update 2/6/22 2:57PM – Information gathered during the investigation indicates Carr, Brown, and Sharver may be in the Pulaski, Virginia area.
A reward of $7,500 is being offered for info leading to the arrest of each man. The white Chevy truck that the suspects are believed to be driving was possibly spotted in the New River Valley area in Virginia.

Update 2/5/22 12:35PM – The investigation has led us to believe that the inmates may possibly be in a white, 2001 Chevrolet Silverado truck. The truck has a regular cab with a short bed. The vehicle registration that may possibly be on the truck is Tennessee registration 830GSD.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the United States Marshals Service have been assisting with the investigation. Our primary focus continues to be the apprehension of the escaped inmates. Reward money is still being offered by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the United States Marshals Service for information leading to the location and apprehension of the escaped inmates. Should anyone have information relating to the whereabouts of these individuals, they are asked to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
Update 2/4/22 3:39 PM – The United States Marshals Service has offered $5,000 for each inmate, or $15,000 total, for information leading to the location and apprehension of these three inmates.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating three escaped inmates that escaped from the Sullivan County Jail this morning.
Information on those that escaped is below:
Tobias Wayne Carr (12/7/83), age 38; 5’11”, 160 pounds, blue eyes, brown hair
Second Degree Murder, Vandalism, Tampering with Evidence
Johnny Shane Brown (6/14/71), age 50; 5’11”, 200 pounds, brown eyes, gray hair
Failure to Appear, Driving on Suspended or Revoked License, Harassment, Violation of Order of Protection, Domestic Assault, Aggravated Stalking
Timothy Allen Sarver (10/18/76), age 45; 6’2”, 235 pounds, green eyes, strawberry blonde hair

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has sent out a Reverse 911 call to citizens to alert them and provide a description of the inmates. Anyone with information on these escaped inmates is asked to call 911 immediately and not approach them.
The United States Marshals Service and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are actively assisting in the apprehension of these inmates. Surrounding law enforcement agencies are assisting as well.
