
Paris, Tenn.–At a busy meeting Thursday night, the Henry County Schools board of education recognized the district’s Teachers of the Year, Principal of the Year Tim Mason of E.W. Grove School and viewed demonstrations of numerous student-made displays covering a variety of subjects.
Teachers of the Year recognized were: Amy Wilson, Virtual Academy; Traci Shankle, pre-K through 4 at Harrelson; Todd Vinson, grades 5-8 Harrelson; Dela Collins, grades 5-8, Lakewood; and Dave Huber, grades 9-12, HCHS.
District Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins also noted that Dr. Huber will be HCHS Dean of Students beginning with the next school year.

A reception was held at the meeting for the teachers and Mason.
With the meeting being held at the high school, board members were treated to a presentation from students representing the Career and Technical Education pathways at Henry County High School.
The board approved the 2022-2021 county school calendar; Maintenance Superintendent Jamie Kemp provided a facilities update, noting that the city of Paris will be commencing the long-awaited sidewalk project on Wilson Street on March 14. It will take 180 days to complete.
