Paris, Tenn.–A huge day for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction Saturday.
A total $12,854 was raised by the Tennessee Valley Community Church, which brings the overall total to $362,377.
Despite obstacles to overcome from the COVID pandemic, this year’s Helping Hand has been a banner year. The 2022 is now in second place overall, right behind the record-breaking year of 2020, when $379,163 was raised.
And we still have three days to go, with Wednesday, March 2 being the last day. On Monday, items will be donated by the India community, Henry County Girl Scouts, Henry County Saddle Club and WRAP.
Today’s auctioneer was Junior Staggs. Helping with the phones were the Business and Professional Women.
Helping Hand President John Berryman thanked McDonald’s for the breakfast and for Tom’s Pizza and Steakhouse for the pizzas for all the volunteers.
The annual auction started January 10 and will continue through March 2, raising funds for over 80 local non-profit and service organizations.
Photos of items that are donated each day are posted on the “Henry County Helping Hand” Facebook page. Anyone who wants to bid on any item can describe the item or give the number of the item as posted on the Facebook page.
The auction is broadcast daily over WTPR 101.7 FM and 710 AM at 12:30 p.m. You can also listen on our website at www.radionwtn.com, where it is live streamed.
