Fulton County, Ky.–Thanks to a private citizen and first responders battling freezing water, two individuals who were trapped inside a truck that was submerged in a backwaters area in Fulton County were rescued last night.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that a truck had run into the backwaters at the first bridge area with two individuals trapped inside.
Local farmer Greg Black and Hickman City Police Officer James Blakney arrived on scene first and fought the freezing temperatures and cold waters to save the first individual.
The Fulton County Fire and Rescue Squad arrived on scene and carried the other individual to safety.
The Fulton County Sheriff deputies said, “Please comply with the “Road Closed” sign at the intersection on Upper Bottoms Road and Pecan Circle, it’s not a suggestion, it’s a warning.”
