
Mr. Gary Willingham, 84, of Union City, passed away at 9:48 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Chip Davis and Brother Ron Gray will officiate. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery near Union City.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Tanner, Timmy Willingham, Wesley Willingham, Eric Baggett, Tony Darnall and Michael Baggett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Willingham’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gary was born July 4, 1937, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, son of the late O’Neal Willingham, Sr. and the late Alta Willingham. He married Joyce (Baggett) Willingham July 16, 1962. She survives. Gary served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1960. He was a retired carpenter and attended First Church of God in Union City.
He is also survived by two sons, Carl Thomas “Tommy” Willingham (Karen) of the Possum Trot community and Gary Donald Willingham of Jackson; three daughters, Doris Ann Toon (Kevin) of Union City, Joyce Marie Roberts (Chris) of Houston, Texas and Cathy Diane Willingham of Martin; one brother, Terry Willingham (Sue) of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; two sisters, Janice Harris of Sheffield, Alabama and Shelia Willard (Earl) of Tuscumbia, Alabama; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren which were his greatest treasures.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Dale Willingham; one grandson, Kyle Matthew Toon; six brothers; one sister; and his best friend and brother-in-law, Paul Jones.
