Union City, Tenn.–The Obion County Sheriff’s Office has been even more busy than usual, with the Junior Citizens Academy at Union City High School, the adult Citizens Sheriff Academy, Career Day at Obion County Central High School and a Meet & Greet with officials at Discovery Park.
Sheriff Karl Jackson said, “We started our first week of Jr Citizens Sheriff Academy at Union City High School where students learned about the different aspects of the Patrol Division, the dangers of social media and Human Trafficking, Criminal Interdiction and Investigations, and also participated in a mock trial.
“The adult Citizens Sheriff Academy was conducted on Thursday night and participants learned about the judicial system, and the multiple offices within the Obion County Courthouse. We want to thank County Mayor Benny McGuire, Tracey Westbrooks, Crystal Crain, and Cheryl Reddin for speaking to our participants on the functions of each of their offices.
