According to Ron Watkins, EMS Director for Henry County, “We were very fortunate last night with the storms that passed through our area, not to have more damage than we did.”  Watkins said by phone this morning that about 400 individuals in the Buchanan and Puryear area lost power due to trees and poles being down but thought all had been restored at this time.  “We had the normal flooding of areas along Palestine and Fairgrounds Road and one structure damage was reported to Scott’s Tire Barn, to Henry County 911 dispatch.”  Facebook pictures have shown some wind damage in the Piney Campground area as well.
Watkins did say that he had heard reports of several government buildings being damaged in Jackson by winds that knocked out windows in those buildings.  “All in all, we were fortunate not to have more damage.”
There’s still some roads blocked in Henry Co this morning, according to what Dispatcher Mark Rudy posted on his FB page this morning Swor Still Road.
