Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Schools Board of Education has unanimously approved naming the computer lab at Harrelson School as the Rubin Adams Technology Education Lab.
Adams’ family members were on hand for the formal presentation at the school board meeting at Harrelson late last week.
Adams passed away on April 12, 2020, at the age of 63, after a lengthy career in education. He was the technlogy instructor at the school.
County Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins read the letter of recommendation penned by former Harrelson Principal Maria Cox. Cox is currently a supervisor of curriculum and instruction. She noted that Adams started as a fourth-grade teacher at the school and began overseeing the technology lab in 2009. “From there he was able to combine his love of all things technology with his desire to educate all students,” she said.
Adams’ widow, Debra, thanked the board for the honor on behalf of the family.
