Obion County, Tenn.–Jillian Menees, 5th grader at Black Oak, won second place in the state for the essay she submitted for the Farm Bureau-sponsored essay contest. She was invited to the Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Conference in Lebanon, TN on Saturday, April 23, where she was awarded with a certificate and a check for $200.
Her mother, Misty Menees, accompanied her along with her ELA teacher, Mrs. Sarah McAlexander.
