
WWII U.S. Army veteran Grover Hudspeth, Jr., 95, of Paris, Tennessee, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Charter Senior Living of Paris.
He retired after many years as a terminal manager for the former Lexington Paris Motor Freight in Paris, now Milan Express. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris where he was involved in several activities. Grover was a past member of the Paris Rotary Club and past president from 1990-1991. He was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross. He enjoyed farming, traveling, golfing, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Grover was born Thursday, January 13, 1927, in Humboldt, Tennessee, to the late Grover Hudspeth and the late Donnie Pearl McCoy Hudspeth. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jewel Marie Lackey, and Donnie Marie Manner; and three brothers, Paul Travis Hudspeth, Dewey “Buddy” Hudspeth, and Howard Hudspeth.
He was formerly married to Bobbie Jean Coleman Hudspeth. She preceded him in death Wednesday, January 15, 2003. He was married Friday, November 20, 1981, to Emma Lois Carter Hudspeth, who preceded him in death Monday, October 30, 2017.
He is survived by four children: Diane (Danny) Lovelace of Milan, Tennessee, DeAnza (Gerald) Russell of Mayfield, Kentucky, Ronnie Hudspeth of Milan, Tennessee, and Mike (Gloria) Hudspeth of Paris; four grandchildren: Gina (Larry) Ing of Medina, Tennessee, Michael (Dana) Lovelace of Atwood, Tennessee, Cody Hudspeth of Paris, and Joshua (Jamie) Pearson of Paducah, Kentucky; one sister, Charlotte (Gerald) Duncan of Lavinia, Tennessee; four grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dr. Trent Bullock officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Hudspeth, Joshua Pearson, Gerald Russell, and men of First Baptist Church Paris.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN.
